What is a hold?
A hold tells us to set a book aside for you so it will be available when you come to the library. You can use the computer to place a hold, or you can ask a librarian to place a hold for you. When the book arrives at your library, you’ll get an e-mail or a letter by regular mail. You have ten days after the book gets to your library to pick it up.
A hold is to request an item with a non-available status. Only items with a non-available status may be placed on hold. Loaned items may be placed on hold at any time and the items may be given an earlier due date for the current borrower. The current borrower has at least 21 days of use and will be notified of the adjusted due date by e-mail.
A. A “hold” is when a presenter, prior to finalizing the engagement, is reserving a particular date for you. Eagles Talent Connection rarely recommends a presenter to you without first checking to make sure the presenter will be available for your engagement. In the event the presenter, while on hold for you, receives a firm offer for the same date, you, as the first hold, will have twenty-four hours to either go ahead and book the presenter or release the hold.
A hold is what the University uses to flag students who have outstanding issues. There are Warning Holds and Hard Holds. A Warning Hold will not prevent you from registering for classes. Hard Holds will prevent you from registering for classes and completing Financial Check-In. To view holds you may have, click the link on the left-hand side entitled “View My Holds.” This will list the holds you have and provide information to reconcile your holds.
