What is a high movement stone?
There are basically two styles of granite slabs; variegated and consistent. Consistent contains the same pattern throughout the slab and have a compact quart like appearance. Consistent slabs are easier to join at the seams without losing a sense of flow or continuity. Variegated slabs, predominately of a different color than the rest of the slab, those with movement or veining, will have a swirling pattern in the slab. Samples of high movement stones can never capture a good overall picture. Therefore, it is best to see the slab before fabrication. Variegated slabs offer the advantage of allowing your kitchen to be a unique one of a kind masterpiece.
