What is a Hidden Mickey series pin?
When Disney started to put the small silver Mickey icons on the pins they were usually easily identified on the pin, however a few pins have the Mickey icon somewhat hidden, hence the name Hidden Mickey. By 2007 every Cast Lanyard series pin (see definition above) contained the Mickey icon. Disney decided to rename these Cast Lanyard Series pins the “Hidden Mickey Collection” with the 2007 releases. The first Hidden Mickey release of pins was basically a re-release of a lot of the previous 2007 pin releases that is why you will see the same pins called Cast Lanyard pins and Hidden Mickey pins. These Hidden Mickey pins are still only initially available by trading with a Cast Member. Hidden Mickey’s are also incorporated into many attractions and locations at Disney Theme Parks and Resorts.
