What is a hexagonal pyramid?

0

It is a pyramid that has a base consisting of a hexagon (6 sided closed figure). The hexagon coud be regular or irregular. The apex of the pyramid would be a single point above the base. Lines would be drawn from each vertex of the hexagon to the apex to complet the pyramid. Pentagonal pyramid is same as describe above except the base is a pentagon (5-sided closed figure). A pentagonal prism has two congruent bases that are pentagons and are parallel to each other. Lines are drawn from the vertex of the bottom pentagon to the corresponding vertex of the top pentagon to complete the solid. If the top and bottom pentagons are exactly above each other so that the lateral sides are perpendicular to bothe pentagons, the it is called a right pentagonal prism.
