What is a Hedgerow Safari?
There’s no need to go all the way to Africa in order to experience the fun of a Safari. There is a multitude of wildlife here in the UK for you to discover and to help you OMSCo is organising a programme of Hedgerow Safaris around the UK. Our organic farmers are hosting these family events, which take you on a journey of exploration along the organic hedgerows on their farms. Activites include identifying plants, looking for insects and hunting for signs of the animals and birds that live in each hedgerow. In some locations there will also be the chance to look at live small mammals such as woodmice and bank voles and also to help put up special tubes that help determine if the endangered dormouse is using the hedges.
