What is a heat treated pallet?
Any pallet (new or used) that has been heated at the core to 56 degrees Celsius for a minimum of 30 minutes is considered heat treated. Pallets that have been treated will be stenciled with a number and logo which indicates that the company doing the heat treating is fully certified. Do not be fooled, look for the symbol. Who needs heat treated pallets or crates? To stay abreast of the heat treating issues, to see if heat treated materials are required of you and to check on the changing implementation dates for member countries, please refer to the following websites: www.aphis.usda.gov, www.nwpca.com. If you have any questions regarding heat treating, please feel free to call one of our Sales Representatives for further information. To meet the current IPPC requirements for shipping to other countries, we offer the ability to heat treat new & reconditioned pallets and crates. At several of our facilities we can also treat & certify your existing pallets, crates, & other wood items.
