What is a heat-resistant fiber wig?
In just the last two to three years, the availability of high quality human hair for wig making has become more and more scarce. In their search for a solution, the wig manufacturers have developed a new “heat resistant” synthetic fiber that is becoming increasingly more popular! The fiber itself closely resembles human hair (it has less “shine” than some synthetic fiber wigs), and it is possible to use moderately hot styling appliances to alter the appearance of the style. Blow dryers at low settings, and hot rollers, curling or straightening irons may be used at settings up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Some of us who have been in the wig business for awhile are predicting this to be the wave of the future. Heat-resistant wigs are an affordable and readily-available replacement for human hair wigs, and the fiber offers more styling versatility than “regular” synthetic hair wigs.
