What is a hand-knotted Rug?
Hand-knotted rugs are the finest of rugs and are the longest lasting. A hand-knotted rug is constructed by knotting yarn by hand through a loom that has a hand set warp, then shearing the face of the rug to create a cut pile. Work on a hand-knotted rug can be very tedious and time consuming, depending on many factors including the fineness of the knots, whether the dyes are vegetable dyes, and whether the wool is hand-spun or not. Hand-knotted rugs may also have an investment factor depending on where they were made and the design and quality of the rug.
