What is a Guaranty of License and why do I need one?
A guarantor is someone (usually a parent or guardian) who agrees to be financially responsible if you cannot fulfill the obligation of the license agreement. Consider your Guaranty of Housing License your “co-signor.” All prospective residents, including independent and graduate students, are required to have a Guaranty of Housing License form on file in order to live in Taylor Place. The Guaranty of Housing License must be signed in front of a Notary, who will then complete the form and apply a stamp or seal to validate it. In lieu of notarization, guarantors can provide a photocopy of their valid drivers’ license or government ID.
