I can confirm that “Veg-hel” is on the right track. If you go with her recommendations you’ll be in really good shape. As she said, stay away from the tourist traps in The Rocks. They offer great views but ordinary food. Metzaluna’s in Potts Point and Cafe Sydney in Circular Quay are also other good choice as well. However, Cafe Sydney has great views but not of the Opera House (Just the Harbour and Bridge). I know revolving restaurants sometimes get a bad rap but The Summit at Australia Square in the city has AMAZING views and really good food and service.
