Some pesticides may be necessary, but in a bait form not in a liquid application. These roaches are easily controlled by placing Niban Bait (made from boric acid) in areas where they are found in a home. Under the sink, behind appliances and around the hot-water heater are good areas to place the bait as well as in the garage. You should place the bait on a sheet of paper when possible so you can see if there is any activity. Be sure to read the directions on the label before using Niban Bait or any other product.
