What is a good score on PSAT?

NMS is set by the state. But in every state, it is almost always over 200. Massachusetts has the highest with 221 this year. Mississippi has the lowest with 201 I believe. Ohio, for example, is 210. Your math score is excellent, especially for a freshman who likely hasn’t taken some of the classes that the SAT tests on. But your reading and writing are pretty low. If I were you, I’d try to read more, because that is the number one thing that will improve your scores on those two sections. You should also buy a fun grammar book. One of my favorites is “Grammar Snobs are Big Fat Meanies” by June Casagrande. That’ll help you on the grammar questions. Then you can take a practice test in an SAT book. If your scores are still under about 620, I’d consider taking a class. You should aim for a total score over 200. With a math score like yours, 80 probably wouldn’t be out of reach, but don’t worry if you don’t hit it. You should go for about 63 on the reading and writing.
