Hi there, I have a VW Golf Mk2 16v (90 Spec) green glass rear screen fitted to an oak green hatchback complete with washer/wiper motor and arm removed from my 1991 model. Yours if you want it… The green tinted glass was fitted almost exclusively to GTi models and if your 1992 Mk2 is a ‘run-out’ GTi model, so called because the Mk3 was introduced in 1992, then it is extremely likely to be green tint. The manufacturer’s mark will tell if the screen is clear or tinted but some GTi spec models had bronze tinted glass as standard, although these tended to be LHD German market vehicles and G60 super charged or Rallye 4WD varients. Use a white piece of paper to determin what kind of tint and view from the outside of the vehicle, assuming the rear screen is intact; if you have shattered it then it will be in a million tiny cubes but the green tint will still be visible…
