What is a good perennial to plant in the fall for spring or summer blooming?

Virtually all spring and summer-blooming perennials can be planted in the fall. There are an endless number of lovely ones. You selection would depend on your climate, soil and light conditions. Your local nursery or garden center would be the best place to learn about which ones are best for your site. One of my favorites is the perennial geranium. You might want to ask about that one locally.
