What is a good parody for the Taming of the Shrew…By William Shakespeare???
Do you have to do the whole play or just a couple of scenes? For a couple of scenes you could do either of these: A chat show (think Jerry Springer, Dr Phil) between the two main characters. If possible you could get someone to narrate being the host. Or you could play the host as well and just put on a wig when being the other character. Or do it like a soap opera and have it end on a cliffhanger with the famous Eastenders drums coming in. For the whole play: I would get a summary of the play (see sources) and turn into a play using your own words – you could modernise it a la Romeo and Juliet with Leo di Caprio – and then act it out. That way it is still the whole play but not really long. You could also write it in a way that suits two actors. Hope this helps you. Good luck and happy writing!!
