What is a good Nickname?
I agree w/ your first responder that a nickname should be personal. Unfortunately, too often, they tend to be imposed on us by those who would mock or belittle us. So beat them to it: Choose your own. Introduce yourself by that name. (This works w/ new acquaintances better than w/ those who know us by another name. Solution: create a “back-story.” Someone (fictional or an “accomplice”) gave you the name because… then make up a good story. (Of course, it always helps to have someone to back you up.) Years ago some jerks tried to stick me w/ a nickname, but a friend came up w/ a good one. We managed to make it stick & for the entire time I was in that area I was known by that nickname. So find something you like, something that expresses what you are or want to be, & stick it on. Remember: We are who we pretend to be. (Not that there’s anything wrong w/ Tilly, but if that’s not who/what you want to be then grab hold of yourself & “re-label.”) Good luck… “T-Bird”… or whoever you dec
