what is a good mulch to use on vanilla?
The answer is almost anything that is readily available in your area; is cheap to acquire and doesn’t involve high transport costs; is fresh and not already composted; and can be obtained preferably right inside your farm. The two kinds of mulch that work best for me are coconut husks and fallen leaf detritus. Oh, and don’t use green leaves such as grass-clippings since they readily decompose and create anaerobic conditions around the vanilla roots.
