What is a good math fair project for a sixth grader?
I remember that one math project was about running a business. We would think of a business that we would like to start. Then we would have to give a copy of our plan with the following included: 1. Type of business and why we choose the business. 2. Interview someone who has a business similar to the one we picked or has advice to give us about what we will need to start this business. 3. Research and list all of the types of equipment and supplies that we need to start our business. Include both fixed and variable costs and the prices for our materials. 4. Decide what we can charge for our customers for our service. 5. Make a chart showing our expenses and income. 6. Make an expense and a cost equation. 7. Show where we will break even in our business. 8. Conclude with a paragraph stating additional information about our business or any knowledge we have gained during the project. Hope this helps.
