What is a good gift to give a teacher for teacher appreciation day?
Honestly…most teachers have enough mugs, magnets, candles, lotions, key chains, figurines, stuffed animals, etc. Most teachers would simply be thrilled with a heartfelt card/note that lets them know that they have made a difference in your life–after all, that’s the reason most teachers get into the profession to start with. It is often a very thankless and frustrating job…so a real thank you can be a very invigorating and reenergizing thing! If you have your heart set on getting them a gift, however, I would advise you to choose a gift the same way you would choose a gift for anyone—get to know them and their interests so it’s tailored just to them. For example, most of my kids know that I love to read…so a gift card to Barnes and Noble was one of the more thoughtful gifts I’ve received. I also am a collector of several different things–I’m always really touched when a student goes to the trouble to really think about the things I collect and gets something for me to add to
