most private business people tend to use comodo if you want it free, there’s also a pro version but the free version is just as good i personally use a combination of nod 32 anti-virus and use just comodo firewall, with comodo you download the suite and get the choice which apps to install so i already had the anti-virus so i just chose firewall

aside from an antivirus and firewall which are the basics of any pc security, you could employ the use of virtualization on your pc. Sandboxie is a good program to use for internet browsers, it creates a jail around your browser and traps whatever spyware, malware you might bump into when surfing the internet; at the end of your session, it then deletes everything in the jail and nothing enters your main system. Other suggestions would probably be the use of firefox with addons “noscript” and “wot”. A passive spyware blocker such as spywareblaster is another good addition to your arsenal. Note that any security product does not provide 100% protection. Sandboxie has its leaks and should only act as an extra layer of protection in addition to any other security you might have. The use of “wot” does not provide direct protection, rather it tells you whether a site deemed safe or not.
