What is a good Equal Opps/diversity response in interview?
Employers want to hear that you get along well with everyone and do not discriminate or have hidden bias that may be detrimental to the team. Diversity is important because it brings people to the team with a variety of experience, and cultural backgrounds. Diversity on any team, lends itself to more creative, “outside” the box view. It allows the team to view every issue from different perspectives. Equal Opps simply mean everyone has equal opportunity to excel in the field. Consequently everyone works to their best ability, knowing they will all be given fair consideration when a promotion is possible.
