What is a good city to live in Texas and why?

There are a number of Texas cities that fit the bill. You’ll want an economic base that generates jobs. That means that all large Texas cities (Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi) fit the bill in one way, shape, or form. I live in Houston, but lived in San Antonio (still visit annually) and Austin (family lives there). I visit the DFW metroplex often. All have good neighborhoods in them somewhere, and with those neighborhoods are good schools. Since you’re posting this in San Antonio, I think this can be a good choice for you. I’m a little prejudiced and prefer Houston (much larger financial, manufacturing, and economic base) but San Antonio has the military, insurance, and tourism drivers. I used to live in the Bluffview area (north side of town, off 281, north of 410, south of 1604). Great neighborhood, the commute to downtown really wasn’t bad at all, and there were excellent schools in the area.
