What is a good and easy science fair project idea for a 7th grader?
Materials; -4-8 small ring magnents (they break easy) -2 4″x4″ surface area wooden blocks with a 1″ thickness. (2, just in case you make a drilling mistake) -2 12″ or bigger dowel rods (usually 3 feet long, but some are smaller and these break easy) I took a 4″x4″ surface area wooden block that was 1″ in thickness. I drilled a hole in the center a half-inch down, but now I realize it should be 3/4 of an inch. Put a 12″ dowel rod in it (if yours isn’t 12″, it needs to be cut to that size). The dowel rod will wiggle if you don’t do a 3/4 inch depth drilling (of course, it may wiggle anyway, that’s just a theory). Put the magnents on the dowel rod, so that each one on top of the other repels the one below it. The magnents will float, Purpose; Back then, I didn’t have one. I believe I made a B- on it still though… But, it shows the property of magnetic and gravitational repulsion. I hope this helps.
GET A WOOD BOX, ALIGN IT WITH ALUMINUM FOIL. GET YOUR FAVORITE KINDS OF FOOD PLANTS. PUT A PLASTIC TRAY IN BOX, ADD DIRT AND PLANT YOUR FOOD PLANTS. PUT A SMALL LIGHT ABOVE PLANTS, NOT CLOSE TO PLANTS COVER TOP OF BOX, BUT MAKE SURE LIGHT STAYS ON 24 HOURS A DAY EVERYDAY. WATER PLANTS EACH DAY. WRITE DOWN DAY AND TIME OF PLANTING FOOD PLANTS. WRITE DAY AND TIME OF EACH WATERING. WRITE DOWN HOW LONG THE PLANTS TAKE TO GROW FOOD FOR EATING. ASK YOUR SCIENCE TEACHER OR MOM TO TAKE A PICTURE OF PLANTS ON DAY ONE AND WHEN THEY YIELD FOOD LARGE ENOUGH TO IT. (THIS IS THE SAME SOLUTION I GAVE TO ANOTHER COUNTRY TO HELP FEED THEIR PEOPLE AND SAME SOLUTION TO DELETE GLOBAL WARMING).
