I agree with the people who posted before that a leopard gecko would be a good choice, another good lizard are the crested gecko, but they can run anywhere from 30 to several hundred depending on the kind and person you get it from. Another good choice, is a white’s tree frog, and yes I know they’re an amphibian but they are a wonderful pet to have. A white’s tree frog is the best frog for beginners and children with proper care and handling. Unlike most tree frogs the White’s tree frog has a waxy skin coating and will be find to handle as long as you wet your hands before. Also due to the waxy skin they can hold moisture and can live in more arid conditions than most tree frogs, with a normal misting a few times a day. We keep ours in a arboreal built tank but they can live as small as 10 gallons for one and 20 gallons for about three.
