What is a good age to enroll my child in music lessons?

Meet with several instructors in your area to learn more about their programs. Most music teachers will start formal lessons with children around age 5 when they have greater attentive ability and can learn to read music. Children generally start with piano or violin as both accommodate smaller musicians hands.
