GOFs are Graduate Office Fellowships. Each year a lump sum of money comes to the Department from the Graduate School, which GEO then doles out to graduate students as GOFs of varying sizes. Unlike funds associated with a TA or and RA, there are no work “expectations” that come along with a GOF – it is a true fellowship.
