What is a GIA Diamond Grading Report?
The Gemological Institute of America (GIA), issues Diamond Grading Reports which are a complete technical description of a diamond as it is loose, prior to being mounted in the setting. GIA does not assign any monetary value to the diamond, just specific measurements and quality grades, which are useful when identifying a particular diamond. Diamond Grading Reports are often incorrectly called a “certificate”.
