A Gem Show (aka Gem & Mineral Show, Gem & Jewelry Show, etc.) is a show consisting of 15 or more vendors in which gemstones, minerals, fossils, jewelry, beads, lapidary supplies, jewelry supplies, and other lapidary arts and crafts are sold as well as the provision of jewelry setting and repair services. Some Gem Shows are sponsored by Gem & Mineral Clubs while others are put on by promoters. Most Gem Shows are retail shows and are open to the general public. Wholesale shows are generally advertised as such and are restricted to members of the trade with legitimate resale licenses.
