What is a GCSE in rural and agricultural science?
A GCSE in rural and agricultural science is a GCSE science subject that meets some aspects of the key stage 4 science programme of study. When taken with another key stage 4 science award, this course can lead to further study in a variety of science subjects or to certificate courses at an agricultural college. Rural and agricultural science is the study of: • soil as a habitat • soil as a growing medium • management of soil • nutrition for plants and animals • reproduction for plants and animals • breeding programmes • health and disease • land use. On this science course you will study aspects of rural science, agriculture and horticulture.
