What is a gadget?
Gadgets are mini applications with a variety of possible uses. Since a gadget is small, it usually has a very specific purpose, such a showing the current weather, the time, information about your PC, or in this case, lottery results. Gadgets can only work within one specific place that they are designed for. Some gadgets work in the Windows Vista Sidebar or on the Windows 7 desktop (like the Lottery Results Gadget), but other gadgets work on the Google web site, others work in the Windows Live site, others in Yahoo!, and so on. You can’t take a gadget that is designed for Windows Vista or Windows 7 and load it into Google (or vice-versa). It can be fun to try out a bunch of different gadgets, because in general they are simple to install and use.  Over time you will find that certain gadgets improve your productivity, and become essential tools on your desktop.
