What is a Fruitarian?
There are several definitions of what it means to be a fruitarian. Some eat just fruit (like myself), others include nuts and seeds and small amounts of green leafy vegetables.. I think strictly speaking, the word defines itself, and fruitarian, means a diet of solely fruit, but, similar to the term vegetarian, which has become corrupted, with people calling themselves vegetarian but eating all manner of things that aren’t actually of the vegetable kingdom, fruitarian has fallen victim of the same types of semantical colloquial misuse.. I describe the term here: http://mangodurian.blogspot.com/2007/12/definition-of.html regards, Mango the Fruitarian.
Fruitarian is a term used for followers of an extreme raw vegan diet who eat only fruits, some seeds, and limited vegetables, depending on how strictly they follow the diet. Most medical professionals agree that the fruitarian diet is nutritionally unsafe, and a prolonged pure fruitarian diet is not advised for healthy living. As a result, the majority of fruitarians eat a large percentage of raw fruit, but also incorporate other ingredients and sources of nutrition into their diet. The fruitarian diet is based on the idea that primitive humans ate only raw fruits and vegetables, and that the root of many digestive and health problems may be the modern diet. The fact that some fruits and vegetables are indigestible without cooking suggests that the introduction of cooking may have expanded human nutrition, rather than acting in a detrimental fashion. To the credit of the fruitarian movement, however, the types of cooked foods eaten may not be entirely healthy. Most followers of the fru

You’ve probably been hearing a lot about the value of a raw foods diet. A raw food diet consists primarily of uncooked, unprocessed fruits, vegetables, sprouts, seaweed, nuts and juices. It’s a vegetarian diet, but one that rejects any animal products. It’s central tenet is that cooking and processing take out the majority of essential vitamins, enzymes and nutrients that our bodies evolved to thrive on. Fruitarians, as the word implies, eat primarily fruits, with nuts and grains as well. A fruitarian diet also includes foods like tomatoes or avocadoes, which are fruits. Fruit is nourishing and refreshing for your health. It doesn’t clog the body’s vital arteries; better still, it actually flushes and cleanses. A fruit diet also lightens our bodies and spirits, in line with the general lightening of our planetary vibration rate which many higher sources tell us is taking place at this time. You need to eat carefully if you choose a fruitarian diet, because it can be more of a challenge
A fruitarian, strictly speaking, is someone who eats only fruit and berries. But, because a fruit is usually defined as the mature ovary of a flowering plant, grains, nuts, seeds and legumes are also thought to be fruits and are eaten by many fruitarians. Whereas a vegetarian avoids injuring or killing animals, a fruitarian avoids killing or injuring plants by taking only the fruit off the plant. By removing the fruit you are in fact helping the plant to disperse its seeds and this is why ripe fruit often tastes and looks so attractive: the plant wants you to eat it! Of course, plants such as lettuce and carrots are not usually consumed by fruitarians because they involve the death of the plant. As well as eating all the more usual fruits (apples, oranges, bananas, pears, melons, grapes etc.), fruitarians also eat avacados, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, marrows, courgettes, green/red peppers and aubergines. 70-80% of the fruitarian diet consists of pure fruit and the remainder is made u
