What is a Fly Fishing Trout Stream?
There are days when I walk to the stream but do not fish. This sounds strange I know but it’s true. I like to sit there in the woods and enjoy the smell of the woods and the sound of the stream as it rushes over the rocks. I like to sit there and watch, hidden by the brush, I see trout feeding on insects rising from the water. There is a great deal of pleasure found just sitting by the stream as it flows to its destination. It can be overwhelming to contemplate the wonder that is the trout stream. Edward Wilson once wrote an article describing the web of life that exists in the tropical rain forest. He called it a “keystone arch” which describes the delicately balanced construction that is made of pieces that support each other in the make up of nature. They support each other only when each is in place. Remove one and the balance is lost. This description of course applies the entire natural world.
