What is a flavor?
A Flavor is a semantic label that can be put onto parts of a recording and will help the pipeline to properly process it. Rather than agreeing on track ids, flavors help with the integration of capture client, processing pipeline and player. A number of well-known flavors exist in Matterhorn, with the following two being the most prominent ones: – presenter/source: the source recording of the talking head – presentation/source: the source recording of the presentation (vga) The workflow operations will allow you to accept either all or certain flavors only in order to apply processing to a recording’s tracks in an intelligent manner. For example, you would probably not want to run slidesegmentation on the talking head but rather on the vga output. Therefore, the “segment” workflow operation is configured with “source-flavor” set to “presentation/source”.
