What is a Flannel Board?
Teachers use a flannel board to tell stories or give lessons in classrooms for young children. Cut a square piece of wood about 36 by 36 inches. Cut a piece of flannel about 40 by 40 inches. Choose either black or white fabric to give a good contrast to the story pieces.ConstructionCenter the fabric on the board and fold the extra fabric over the four corners, one at a time. Tuck in the extra fabric to eliminate bulges. Hold the fabric in place at each corner with small brads (nails) or tacks. Use duct tape or glue if you change the fabric often.
