What is a first party cookie and what is a third party cookie?

0

A first party cookie is one for a specific site – like I have one for www.dallasnews.com which allows the site to recognise me and let me on without signing on. A third party cookie is posted to collect information about how you use the internet and has nothing to do with most of the sites you visit. It is recommended that you allow the first for convenience and bar the latter. If that results in your having to sign into a site every time you go there, then that site was posting a 3rd party cookie that others (3rd parties) can access.

What is your question?

*Sadly, we had to bring back ads too. Hopefully more targeted.
