What is a fingerprint of an idea document?

0

This is the computer generated unique code for your uploaded idea document. Software at CIR generates from all the digits of your idea document a certain unique character string. It is a unique identifier for your document that is why it is called a digital fingerprint of an electonic document. The fingerprint code is calculated from the complete content of the idea document (a so called SHA-256 Hash). If the content of the idea document were to change by even one character, a totally different digital fingerprint code would be calculated. This internationally accepted encription technique provides a design whereby it is computationally infeasible to find two different documents which produce the same digital fingerprint code.
