What is a female drake called?
Sorry to inform you of this but there is no such thing as a female drake. We have the type of bird who are so stupid they are known as quackers and are divided into two opposing sexes, one lot (dominant, as in humans) are called Drakes and the second or (subserviant ones again as in humans, are known as Ducks). Therefore it is an impossibility to have a female drake when we already have ducks in their own right. To tell which is which in the dark, those with their mouths open will be ducks the quiet ones are drakes. This is natures way of guiding foxes to ducks which are better eating due to the egg laying bits of their anatomy. Hope this helps …………….
