What is a felt tip pen?
Think of a big black Marks-a-Lot marker that you might use on a poster. Think of a Sharpie marker. Think of a Flair fine-line. The ink flows through a little piece of porous felt-like material rather than rolling out on a small ball, like a ball-point pen. The term is pretty outdated now, IMO, so it’s no wonder you were confused. There was a time, though, when whoever made the list learned to call them that to differentiate the type.
