What is a Federal False Claims Act Case?
• Providing an undisclosed commission or kickback to secure a Federal contract or payment; • Receiving backend rebates on Federal contracts and not returning those rebates to the Federal Government; • Charging the Federal Government more for a product or service than they charge any other buyer; • Charging the Federal Government for having performed a service or provided a product that they did not actually perform; • Delivering the Federal Government less than what they promised to deliver of their product or service; • Underpaying money owed to the Federal Government (but not with regard to taxes); • Promising to provide a service or product to the Federal Government but actually providing another; or • Making false certifications regarding the quality of products sold to the Federal Government.
