What is a fast, efficient way for me to study for vocabulary tests?
The best way the human mind learns is through making connections and bright colors. One way to learn the vocabulary is to write a sentence using the word. You might want to write a sentence incorporating your favorite tv show, movie, musician, or activity. That way you would be most likely to remember it. For example: The word “amiable” – it means friendly Although Spongebob is an amiable neighbor, he always seems to annoy Squidward. Or, you can create a word map. On a blank sheet of paper, write the word in a bright color. Then using multiple colors, write the following words around it: hear,smell, taste, touch/feel, see. Write as many words as possible that you can connect the word to using the five senses. That way, it will stay in your brain much quicker. Hope this helps. P.S. Or you can study the root word within the vocabulary word. That way, when you see another word containing the root, you will instantly know the meaning of the word.
