It allows a viewer to pause, rewind, and record up to 100 hours of TV. You can even fast forward up to live TV. The name brand DVR is called TiVo. Dish Network and DirecTV have their own models. Be aware that once you get one you’ll never watch TV the same again. Never miss an episode of any show since you can choose to record all new episodes or just Sunday night shows, etc. If you get a phone call, or someone asks you a question, press pause until your ready to watch TV. Missed some important dialog of a show? Just rewind and listen to it again. Record a baseball game and watch it in 30 minutes. The options are endless.
