What is a Dung Beetle?
Dung beetles include several subfamilies of the large family Scarabaeidae, the scarab beetles. There are thousands of species of dung beetles, occurring worldwide with most of them in Africa and wherever fecal matter, otherwise known as dung, is found! We now have dung beetles available in frames to add to your insect collection or create one from scratch! What is a Lady Bug? Lady bugs are a type of beetle. Lady beetles, also known as Ladybird Beetles or Ladybugs, are beneficial insects which help control many pests such as aphids. Some species include: Cycloneda munda, Coccinella septempunctata, Hippodamia convergen and a few more. The ladybug is the official state insect of Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Ohio, and Tennessee. Lady bugs have been used throughout history in community folklore and ladybug legends.
