What is a Doorway page or Gateway page?
A page designed as an entranceway to a website. The most common doorway is a homepage, but a doorway page can be a useful alternative entrance that appeals to a specific target audience. An example is to use a doorway as the page people go to after clicking a Banner ad, that addresses their specific concerns more accurately than the homepage would. A doorway page may also be submitted to search engines to encourage multiple routes into a website that suit different interests.
