What is a domain transfer?
A Domain Transfer is a simple procedure. Because all of our clients own their respective domain name(s) we just ask that they have the DNS settings (Domain Name Server) directed to our servers so that when a browser is directed to the site it will point to their website. ValueWebHosts does not become the owner of the domain name they just are the place the domain name points to.
A domain transfer is a process in which a domain is moved from one domain registrar to another registrar. There are many reasons why owners of a domain may choose to transfer their domain to another registrar: price, quality of customer service, and ease of use (just to name a few). A domain transfer can also involve a change of ownership of the domain, however, this is not always the case. The steps in the domain transfer process are: • Submit a domain transfer order for the domain you wish to transfer. • Once we have received payment, we will do a Whois lookup for your domain. Then we will send you an email to authorize the domain transfer to the email address listed in the Whois. Generally speaking, Domain Transfers are available in the following three types: • From one hosting provider (ISP) to another • From one domain registrar to another • From one domain owner to another Transferring a Domain From One Hosting Provider to Another Transferring your domain name from your current hosting provider to another is a relatively simple task, and can usually be performed for you by your new hosting provider. If you would like to transfer your domain name yourself, simply complete the following steps: • Get your new server to send in a modification request to Internic.
