If you want to speak to someone on the phone, you dial their phone number. Phone numbers are not always easy to remember. Almost all domain names begin with www (standing for world wide web): there are many suffixes; too many to list and still counting E.g. www.dictionary.com, http://www.harvard.edu, http://www.w3.org, http://www.cira.ca, http://www.internic.net to name a few.
