What is a disease caused by the deficiency of Vitamin B in your body?
Being a bariatric patient from May of 2007, I am committed to taking 2 chewable vitamin B Complex, 2 calcium, and 2 multivitamins each day. A deficiency of Vitamin B can cause anemia as well as nerve damage. Those who have had this surgery must be diligent to take their vitamins daily because their new “intestinal” system cannot absorb what is needed to function properly. (Also being committed to getting your blood work will help make sure that your vitamin levels are correct.) On my year check up, I ran out of my “B’s” that previous week, and I ended up getting a “B” shot in the behind. Not too bad a price, but it really showed me how important that it was to stay on top of it. It’s also good that my Primary Care Doc is very aware of those levels, too.
