What is a Dirt Jump?
A Dirt Jump is basically a jump, made out of dirt for a motorcycle to go over. There are many types of Dirt Jumps. Here is an overview of some. Single – A jump with no landing ramp. Double – A jump with a landing ramp and take off ramp. There is a gap between the takeoff and landing ramp. Triple – A jump with two landing ramps. If the jump is “Tripled”, it means the rider lands on the furthest landing ramp. If the rider lands on the closer landing ramp it is said to be “Doubled and Singled”.Tabletop – Basically a double, with the gap filled up with dirt.Step-Up – A Double or Triple in which the landing ramp is higher than the takeoff ramp. Used to jump uphill or up a cliff.Step-Down – A Double or Triple in which the landing ramp is lower than the take off ramp. Used to jump downhill or off cliffs.
