What is a Direct Vent firebox?
Direct vent fireboxes have outside air kits that work to pull in outside air to fuel the fire and then uses the flue to efficiently vent combustibles out and away from the room. These fireboxes can be top vented, or rear vented, which means vented from the top of the firebox through the roof, or from the back of the firebox through an outside wall. This type of firebox comes with fixed glass over the opening, and can come with louvers for circulating heat, or without louvers for radiant heat.
