What is a Dingo?
A dingo (as referenced on the board) is a creature that makes some of your posts disappear. The term comes from the Buffy episode Inca Mummy Girl, in which the band playing at the Bronze was called Dingoes Ate My Baby. First coined by Muffy the Vampire Annoyer, the term dingo is used to express outrage when a post gets lost in cyberspace. This usually happens to longer posts. Typically it is only part of the post that is eaten but the dingoes have been known to eat posts whole. For some reason, the Dingoes seem to have a taste for certain people’s posts more than others. You’ve been warned!!! It is advisable to write your post elsewhere (in a notepad, on a word processing application, or in an e-mail application) and to copy it to the board so that if the dingoes attack, you can re-post the portion they ate.
