What is a digitized embroidery design?
A digitized embroidery design is simply a computer file created from a piece of drawn, printed or computer artwork. The file is a set of instructions that controls the movement of the pantograph (a device that holds the hooped garment to be embroidered), the needle mode (either up or down) and other machine functions like color changes, stitch type and trims. The tricky part of creating a good digitized embroidery design is entirely left up to the discretion, experience and technique of the digitizer. Low is the target. Lowest stitch count required to make your design look great, low number of color changes, low number of trims, low distortion of the material being embroidered. Stitch type, texture and layering are also important components in creating an attractive embroidery.
